Jingle Jangle Jungle

So, we rang bells on Christmas morning and tooted horns on NYE. All in all, we made about as much noise as we usually do around here only with more of a traditional purpose, one might say.

Piper religiously counted down on her advent calendar each morning by greeting her parents with, "You know what number it is today? It is number (1-24) today! Almost 25!"

Little blue eyes lit up on Christmas morning was a huge treat for mama and dad. Being only 2 and half years old, this was the first real Christmas Piper was able to whole-heartedly experience with us. We left cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. Piper even wrote a thank you note for Santa Claus. Writing the thank you note prior to Santa's arrival and leaving it for him on Christmas Eve before this little one even received a single gift from the jolly old soul was both optimisitc and authentically Pi.

All we did was supply Piper Madison with paper and crayons, she informed us her letter said:

"Thank you Santa for coming to my house, please don't scare me in the dark. Thank you for all my presents. Evan likes presents too. Chaucer is fine, I already got him some. Okay, bye."

Man, we thought the Sunday comics, Monty Python, and plenty of Sandler or Stiller, held the key to our "happy thoughts" but Piper and Evan have an entire vault of good times we never imagined could feel this awesome!

It might be compared to the combination of a Dave Mathews Concert only 30 people knew about in the middle of Golden Gate park, eating Three Twins Ice Cream, skiing the softest Tahoe powder known to man, while watching Mavericks waves rise like King Kong high above Pacifica's shoreline and crash down so quietly, and somehow France would only be a few miles away by car, with New York a few miles past that... THAT impossible combination of utopia might even compare to a fraction of how much we enjoy these two little ones... but we doubt it!

Piper proudly struts a bit different now. Less bulk under the pants and a really fast boogie to the potty makes for one very happy family these days. Evan refused to be upstaged by such constant congratulatory fanfare and now quickly crawls right behind her with a new strut of his own.

With little girl using the potty without fail, and baby crawlin' all over the place, we are officially a household of chaos and bliss all rolled into one!

Happy 2008 to you!

Twinkle Toes and Turkey Time

Thanksgiving Day Leftover Thoughts....

Piper started our Thanksgiving day off just right with a family jam session, and the little maistro insisted we do it on camera none-the-less. Truly this little blondie is patterning a love for music and audio/video production just like her godfather. All of us eagerly award her passion with on-demand performances at any time.

Then, we all sat down and gobbled, but sadly the turkey did no more. Evan enjoyed a bit of bread, some sweet potatoes, and applesauce; it was a big day for the little guy. Sitting up on his own with great strength and solitude, Evan is a few practices away from crawling triumph.

Currently, he attempts the stunt move of roll & wriggle all along the floor in order to somehow move around in circles, but by the smile of acheivement on his cute little face, you'd think he just ran a marathon in record time...(and according to him, he just did!)

Santa knows Pi and Ev exude goodness and naturally fall on the "nice list" as all children do. However, little did we know having two kids does wonders for mama's and dada's waistlines...Is it the continual chasing after babies or the fact that they are so sweet that we no longer reach for cupcakes? Hmmmmmm.....

****Advent starts this weekend! We look forward to a new year and new photos of our Christmas tree, Holiday festivities, and tons of Winter fun...****

Piper's answer to her baby brother's aprehension regarding wearing a bow and carrying a wand: "Ev, trust me - you look great! I'm your big sis and I knooooooow these things!"

Aerobesque Until Another day...

Wouldn't want to run into these tutus in a dark alleyway late at night....

Big day for such a little Ballerina...

Piper felt a solo coming on...

Future Sugar Plum Fairies in training...

Mess with his little girl, you'll answer to her dog. In the end, this you can be sure!

Same goes for messin' with the dog, the little girl has teeth as well!

Watching Peter Pan side by side, sibling bond brews...

"Party in my crib! Bring your friends! Life's too short to sleep, ever!"

Manual, old school form of photo shop...

Dada's response for Evan's eyes turning from baby blues to hazel...Mama is proud though!

Off for a wagon ride! As the cold moves in, hats on top and flip flops stay home.

I'm so vertical these days!! Radical notion....

"Yeah, my first cookie's okay...What took you guys so long to hand it over?"

"Yellowish-Orange mushy stuff...Tell me this gets better over time?"

Fallen Blog? Never! Just An Auspicious, Active Autumn!!

Never fear, for new updates and pics are here! "They" say that photos are worth a thousand words, so why do we continually blab and blah on this site about what our fam of four is up to these days? Explanation for clickety clacking on the keyboard as well as configuring and uploading snaps is pure and simple - this blog is one big postcard from the edge of reason! You need the text to fill you in on where we've been and where we're going...

As two very young, new parents we are seriously relishing every moment. If you were a fly on our walls, you notice a strange and exciting sense of breathing in our children's existence as if Piper and Evan hold the key to all things worth treasuring. Each day (no matter how the night went!) opens with raw, real bliss we've yet to find in the finest dark chocolate, flawless red wine, those fun little pills the docs give you for pain, or even the sound the ocean waves make as they meet the sand.

The last two months included (but not limited to) :

A fabulous, scenic road trip up to Crescent City Ca for Eric's first surf competition, the Noll Longboard Classic. He scored. He rocked. We couldn't have cheered any louder...

Piper started nursery school in Sausalito and only cries when it is time to go home!

Suzanne took co-oping at Piper's school with avengence as school VP & Co-chair of Communications.

Evan spends many a morning flirting with all the lovely ladies of the lobby who take care of him at Roco Dance studio while his mama dances to her heart's delight behind glass doors with one eye always wandering to her little man.

Piper started Ballet as well and truly embodies the cliche dancing to her own drummer.

Major bummer for all of us as the oil spill under the Bay Bridge caused 16 beaches around here (including all our favorites) to close until further notice. Hence, the time to actually update the blog!

Our family's little business, Firefly Tutoring and Behavioral Services is also still buzzing and lighting up the dark one student at a time.

Check back with us, we'll update at least monthly. The family computer died (R.I.P.), but acquisition of a new one is well in the works and time should not lapse as long between posts!!

Scroll waaaaaayyyyy down below for new pics. This site is too photo happy, new organization and archiving due next time around. Enjoy the summer posts while they last...
