The Quiet Everybody's Storm is Chasing...

Drip drop drip drop and then a little more rain falling down and whooshing sideways. Great weather for locally grown produce and just a bit more challenging for locally grown kiddies. However, it should be noted with great sincererity that holding two little trusting beings during a power outage, armed with a flashlight and a basket of books provides a glowing warmth in your insides that even the most diligent heroin user will never experience.

Proudly, we may boast ever-so-slightly regarding a few creative activities we come up with daily to keep Piper and Evan stimulated. Popping air-popped popcorn on a freshly washed tile floor with absolutely no bowl in sight was particularly a life saver one day as well as hilarious for one stir-crazed toddler, a very bored sheepdog, closely supervised but curious infant, and much relieved mama.

But, the outdoors are greatly missed and staring at trees and grass from closed windows is losing any remnant of appeal it ever posessed in the first place. However, windows of dry or misty weather allow for escape from confinement and fabulous puddle stomping, umbrella twirling and curly hair for all...

Big sis and little bro continue to bridge the gap between infant and toddler each time the sun pops up for another run at a new day. Now that Ev pulls up onto anything more stationary than his 23 pound strong but wobbly body, his ability to join in Pi's play has reached new heights! This new accomplishment is often times embraced by an engaging sister and occasionally refuted as blondie calls in homeland security for terrorist threat precautions.

Preparing for Valentine's day is a bit more fun with the little ones. We find intriguing new reasons to express love through cutting, gluing, sparkling, tying ribbon, and finding use for those paper doilie thingys. No boxed valentine cards for this household as long as glue sticks and sequins provide this much excitement...
